Born of mixed blood, Max Dyson has lived a life of destiny, knowing that one day, an alien warlord would seek him out for vengeance. That day has come, but instead of just his survival in the balance, the conflict has subject all of humanity to potential destruction. To save the world, Max must defeat a series of extraordinary alien opponents in a series of duels, but first he must prepare. Friends of unlikely origin and stature gravitate to Max and together they bind to form an alliance that proves stronger than any fear that can assail them. With the threat of alien invasion forcing the world into a deeper and deeper downward spiral into chaos, this group of friends must hold their course to restore faith to the world to show that even now, in the darkest times of human history, hope can still prevail. Blending his alien prowess with his human emotion, Max hones himself into the warrior he must become to secure victory. However, Max's greatest achievement is not physical. It is his ability to bring people and entire nations together when everyone needs each other most. At the end, only Max can save us, but along the way, the world rediscovers how to fight back. Alone we lose. Together we win.

A lovely book, nice progression, strong but clichéd plot and a heart pumping adventure. A great way to start your week.
